With the generous support of the Italian Ambassador to Japan, H. E. Mr. Giorgio Starace and his spouse, Mrs. Matelda Benedetti Starace, and two representative violinists in Japan, Maestro Tsugio Tokunaga and Maestro Fumiaki Miura, the National Council of YMCAs of Japan created a video expressing our sense of gratitude to all healthcare-related workers.
We will have a video streaming of the great performance by two representative Violinists of Japan on the 22nd of August 2020.
This online concert was recorded in the Italian Ambassador’s residence on the 22nd of May.
The plan for this charity concert is based on the National Council of YMCA's of Japan’s intention to send a thank-you message to all health care workers who are committed to delivering essential medical services despite being exposed to the risk of infection.
The two violinists, ambassador of Italy to Japan, and his wife agreed with this plan. The two violinists performed several famous pieces at the Italian ambassador’s beautiful residence to show appreciation.
The funds raised from this online charity concert will be distributed to the National Council of YMCAs of Japan and the Italian Embassy in Japan.
The National Council of YMCAs of Japan ensures that the funds will be used to benefit juveniles who are suffered from the damage by COVID-19 as a part of YMCA Positive Net Fund for children, youth and regional support under the YMCA’s policy - "creating a regional society which give a chance to everyone."
And from the Italian Embassy in Japan, a portion of the fund will be sent to ISTITUTO NAZIONALE MALATTIE INFETTIVE “LAZZARO SPALLANZANI” in Italy, where the funds will be used for development of vaccine of COVID-19.
